CRASE stands for Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events, which is an educational course designed and built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend (ADD) strategy developed by ALERRT in 2004, providing strategies, guidance, and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event.
The JCPD has certified CRASE instructors that allow us to present this course to businesses, schools, and community members so that they can be more prepared on what they should do if confronted with an active shooter event.
The CRASE Course can be provided to JC business and it's employees or any other organization in Johnson City. Additionally, we will provide periodic courses to the general public for anyone to attend. Any scheduled public courses will be displayed on our registration page. If you are you looking to schedule a course for your business or organization, complete the form at the bottom of the page.
The CRASE Course is provided at no cost to the host or participants.
If you are considering a law enforcement career, we are encouraging you to attend this event. No matter where you aspire to become an officer or deputy, this is a great opportunity to get a jump start on that path.
