SEEKING LATERAL POLICE OFFICER APPLICATIONS

The Johnson City Police Department is always accepting inquiries from qualified, unique lateral police officers looking to bring their experience to work in our community.

We file resumes received from interested police officers for review when openings occur.   

The JCPD is made up of a strength of 41 full-time police officers with promotional and career advancement opportunities:

  • Patrol Division 
  • Detective Division
  • Special Investigation Unit Task Force
  • Metro SWAT
  • Community Action Team (Street Crimes Unit)
  • K-9 Unit
  • Bike Patrol. 

Transfer applicants must be a NYS resident and must be a full-time police officer (as recognized by the New York State Civil Service System) for a period of at least one year.
