K-9 Unit

The Johnson City Police Department Canine Unit is currently comprised of Patrolman Daniel Gavin and his German Shepherd K-9 Anouk. The K-9 Unit is used to conduct searches of buildings, wooded areas and other places for criminal suspects or missing persons. They are also used to detect the unlawful possession of narcotics, to assist with crowd control, and to retrieve articles of evidence.
